Over the course of the past couple of decades, licensed conveyancers have radically changed the way conveyancing is handled, and the conveyancing process of today is virtually unrecognisable from the conveyancing process back in the eighties.
The 21st century is one reliant on technology, and the conveyancing industry has had to adapt to keep up with the times.
A quick search on Google reveals just how many online conveyancing providers there are, all offering the same conveyancing service that a traditional high street solicitor provides - and often at a fraction of the price!
There are many benefits to online conveyancing, not least of which is the fact that advanced communication means you can shave weeks off the time it takes for your conveyancing transaction to complete.

But how to pick out the good online conveyancing firms from the bad?
Get as many opinions as you possibly can and base your decision on REPUTATION, not necessarily on price.
Many online conveyancing firms will lure you in with the promise of dirt cheap conveyancing, only to hit you later on with 'unforeseen' extra charges and disbursements.
Ask yourself this: "Is it worth paying a little bit extra, just for the peace of mind that the conveyancing is being handled by people who really know how to get the job done?"
Some of the key things to look for in reputable conveyancing providers are...
· Do they operate on a "no move, no legal fee" and a "fixed fee guarantee" basis?
· Do they provide guidance & support throughout the process?
· Do they take a proactive (not reactive) role and push your deal through?
· Are they technologically advanced enough to provide a modern and fast conveyancing service?
· Do they carry professional indemnity of at least £1,000,000?
· Are they regulated and listed with one of the two professional bodies (Solicitors - The Solicitors Regulation Authority / Licensed Conveyancers - Council of Licensed Conveyancers)?
If a conveyancer ticks all these boxes, as well as having a large percentage of satisfied customers, then you know you're on to a winner!
